Independence Day 2012

The 4th of July is all about tradition for our family.
One of my favorite traditions is Balloon Fest.
The last few years the wind has made any sort of flight impossible.
But we lucked out with incredible weather and the pilots were able to give us a good show.

Pilots let the crowd- or can't avoid letting the crowd- get close to the entire flight process.

Balloon Fest is one of the very few reasons I will wake up at 5 a.m.

Our traditional July 3rd fun is a BBQ at my Grammy's and South Salt Lake's firework show (grams lives a block away). Sadly, I was too busy having fun to take any other photos, but we had the whole group there.

On the actual 4th we ditched the annual parade.
I wasn't feeling it this year, and I don't believe in doing things just for tradition's sake.
We slept it, I made my red skirt for the day and we went to a couple of delicious BBQ's (cousin's and Doty's).
We lucked out with cheap tickets to the Stadium of Fire.
The Beach Boys were old and wonderful.
It was so much fun.

Happy 4th!
