Home improvements

When we first got married, every piece of furniture we had was donated or one of us brought it into the marriage. (Let's me honest, we haven't purchased anything so that statement is still true.) Someone in Jacob's family (Janalynne?) gave us night stands. We were so happy to have them, but let's be real, they were a bit.... dated.

After talking about re-doing them for ages, we finally borrowed a hand sander and went to work. I spent most of my sanding on the front porch until one of my primary kids said, "Sister Benson, I saw you ironing on your front porch." Then I felt a little ghetto.

After countless hours of sanding, 1 bottle of primer and 3 cans of spray paint... I present our new night stands.

BEFORE:

Blech.

 AFTER:

Yay!

They look so much better in real life, but I LOOOOVE them. We finished them right before it snowed and the temps dropped.

The only problem is now I want to spray paint everything....

  1. Super cute! You are tempting me to try to fix the horrid bedroom set we have.

My favorite part of this post is the last line. I laughed loud.
