Planning a trip

As per family tradition (that we started last year), we are taking a trip for Jacob's graduation.

This year we are hitting it up in Washington, D.C.!
I can hardly handle it.
Mostly because I have never been before.

I need your help!
What are your 'must-sees' in D.C.?
What can't we miss? What should we avoid?

Any and all suggestions are welcomed!

Also, any books I should read? Every time I searched at the library for books related to D.C. I only found ones like "Murder at [insert historical site here]." I don't want to walk around D.C. terrified some crazed tattooed man is going to cut off my hand. (Anyone read 'The Lost Symbol'?)

Now, excuse me while I stick my nose back into my travel books...

  1. I think I may have posted a message under my sisters name.... Haha. Anyway, I think you should make time for the holocaust museum but be prepared for an emotional experience. It's the only thing that sticks out in my mind when I think of dc. And go see the temple. It's beautiful!
