Halloweenie

The actual Halloween holiday was overshadowed by the work door decorating competition. Which is a nice way of saying that we were really uncreative... er, ahem... lazy with our costumes.

So it was a nerd again! Ironically, I only had to change a few items from my original outfit. Oh well.

Our Halloween adventures started with the ward Halloween party. The Young Men and Young Women are in charge. It is a really big to-do netting a big crowd. I was in charge of the spook alley which the little kids loved.

After the party I picked up $90 worth of pizza to convince the youth to stick around to clean up. My car reeked like pizza for a week.

Halloween party #2 was the Saturday before Halloween at RoseAnn and Gordon's.
Yep, nerds again. Jacob's calculator kills me. Sadly, you can't see his pants tucked into socks. No one does nerds like us.

Uncle Gordon (aka Dracula) is really into Halloween. It falls on his birthday so he has taken Halloween on as his own personal holiday. Jacob spent a few weekends helping create his laboratory complete with science experiments to the delight of the children.

On Halloween I decided to dress up to deliver meals.
The seniors loved it!
And let's be honest, I did too.

That night we rocked it out at Korianne's annual Halloween dinner and trick-or-treating.

Ma and Pa as pirate and piratess. (Wench just doesn't sit well with me.)

Bug catcher and his bug.

Stacie and her cute owl pumpkin.

Trick-or-Treating with the kiddies.
Things are always a lot more fun with these kidlets around.

The nerdy bug catcher.
I adore him.

Halloween has been kicked up a notch since I was a Trick-or-Treater.
Instead of each house handing out little candy, people create their own neighborhood movie theater for the Trick-or-Treaters.

And by the time we were done Trick-or-Treating Malorie finished her costume.
(Pssst. She is Ke$ha.)

Happy Halloween, friends! It feels like a century ago.

  1. Uncle Gordon is so funny! That is the fanciest Halloween setup I've seen. I heard he had finagled something fancy in the garage, but that was much more official than I was envisioning.
