New Year's Resolution: Meet a Celebrity

Melissa said she needed a New Year's Resolution. I suggested seeing a celebrity.
Then we made it happen.

So You Think You Can Dance or SYTYCD auditions came to town.
No, we definitely did not audition. But this was the first year they decided to have an audience for the auditions. And Melis scored us tickets!

So who did we see?

Nigel and Mary.
and Robyn Antin, the Pussycat Doll creator in a dress that I can only assume was painted on.
Nigel was funny. Much more than his on-air persona.
Mary thankfully had lost her voice. No hot tamale trains today.
But we didn't see anything from Cat Deely. :(
My favorite part was that they told us to dress trendy, like we were going to a nice club. To be in the audience.
Some dancers were killer. And then there was the drag queen.

The interesting thing is that they have everyone dance for about 15-30 seconds to the same song in groups of 10. Then they make cuts from there. After that they have them dance their solos. But none of the bad people made it through. So I wonder how they get their bad auditions. We think the producers pull them aside and ask them to stick around, but your guess is as good as mine.

And sadly, no cameras allowed. Period. So you'll just have to take my word on all of it.

Now I know that Nigel and Mary can hardly be described as celebrities. I haven't seen an Osmond in ages, so we will take what we can get.
