#1- Read 25 Books

I am slowly knocking off my 25 Before 25 (see sidebar on right). During our trip, I completed #1: Read 25 Books.

Disclaimer: I listened to a lot of audiobooks while I drive for work to visit my cute seniors, so I suppose I technically did not 'read' some of them. But I counted them. (I did not, however, count any books I have read before.)

1. Number the Stars by Lois Lowry (5 stars)
2. Rule of Four by Ian Caldwell (3 stars)
3. Dear John by Nicholas Sparks (3 stars)
4. Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortensen (4 stars)
5. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis (4 stars)
6. Lies My Teacher Told Me by James W. Loeman (3 stars)
7. The Book Thief by Markus Zuzak (5 stars)
8. The Help by Kathryn Stockett (5 stars)
9. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (3 stars)
10. The Guernsey Potato Peel Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows (4 stars)
11. A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle (3 stars)
12. The Golden Compass by Phillip Pullman (4 stars)
13. Stork Raving Mad by Donna Andrews (4 stars)
14. Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins (4 stars)
15. Austenland by Shannon Hale (3 stars)
16. One for the Money by Janet Evanovich (3 stars)
17. The Diary of Anne Frank by Anne Frank (5 stars)
18. The Subtle Knife by Phillip Pullman (4 stars)
19. A Christmas Story by Jean Shepherd (3 stars)
20. A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens (4 stars)
21. Blink by Malcolm Gladwell (4 stars)
22. Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert (5 stars)
23. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee (4 stars)
24. No One Can Take our Place by Sheri Dew (5 stars)
25. The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin (3 stars)

Phew. I made it! But I found that sometimes I would push through a book I didn't really like because I felt like I had to finish it. My new personal goal is If I don't like it, I don't have to read it. So there.

I tracked my goal and my reviews on Goodreads. Let's be friends! stephaniefleischer@gmail.com

Do you agree with my ratings? What books should I read next?

  1. Steph! I'm so glad you posted the books you read! I'm still working on my 30 before 30 and I may steal a couple from your list... and I see that we have already read a few in common. Yay for reading! PS - Do you have a nook?

  2. Jenny!- I wish I had a Nook or a Kindle. I either borrow books or check them out from the library for now.
